The Nexus Growth Spurt
In September 2016 I was fortunate to have joined the team at Nexus as a Marketing Manager to help align our marketing initiatives with the firm’s strategy. As it’s only been a year and a half since I started with Nexus, you might think I’m the newest employee… however, you’d be wrong! In 2017, Nexus hired two new employees, Terence Tse, our Vice President, Finance and Nancy Cruz, a Portfolio Administrator.
It’s only just the beginning of 2018, and we’re delighted to announce that we will be adding another new member to the Nexus team in March. This time, we are expanding our research and investment management team. Our new member will concentrate her efforts on fixed income as well as contribute to other research initiatives. More details will come in March as we welcome her, and I, for one, am looking forward to sharing the Millennial spotlight when Geoff’s pop-culture references (that now fall under the category of “retro”) fly right past me.
The addition of new faces has proven to be a breath of fresh air on the team, and, as John pointed out in our annual event last year, has lowered the average age of the firm’s employees significantly! As a small firm, our steady growth in the last year and a half has been both exciting and advantageous. We’re able to improve our efficiencies and processes internally, and with more helping hands on the team, we’re able to expand the capacity and speed that we deal with arising issues, as well as provide better service to our clients.
Throughout 2018, you’ll notice more blogs penned by me under the category of Inside Nexus. After embarking on a client survey in late 2016, we learned that our clients want to hear more about what happens in the firm, our investment process, and what initiatives are to come. These posts will help us show the “behind the scenes” efforts of the team and keep you informed of firm announcements, new hires, events, or publications you may have missed. NW
