Celebrating 30 at our Annual Client Presentation

This year marks a major milestone for Nexus – we turn 30! Thirty years ago, Bill Berghuis hung out his shingle and founded Berghuis Investment Counsel.

A few years later, the firm merged with Vantage Investment Counsel to become Nexus. Since the firm’s inception in 1988, a lot has changed both on the world stage and at Nexus. Investors felt the highs and lows of the tech bubble, weathered the storms of the credit crisis and experienced a good run with the current record-breaking bull market.

As a firm, we have seen a tremendous transformation within (and including!) our own walls. The “Nexus World Headquarters” relocated, and we have now resided in our current space since 2012. We have nearly doubled our roster in the last 10 years and have grown to 19 employees. And Nexus now manages a total of $1.9 billion for more than 550 clients.

While a lot has changed in the last 30 years, our investment philosophy, approach and mission to help our clients achieve their long-term financial goals remain the same. We also continue to uphold the longstanding tradition (13 years!) of welcoming our clients at our annual presentation. Client-service has remained of the utmost importance to us, and this year we are pleased to host our annual event in multiple locations and dates in Toronto.

Please mark your calendars and join us as we mark Nexus’s 30th anniversary:

November Dates

For timing, location and registration details, please contact Jorjan Mead ( or 416-360-0580 ext. 221).

Thank you to our clients for their continued support, and we look forward to celebrating our 30th with you at our Annual Client Presentation. NW
